Elixir of GOOD HEALTH!

This spring I’ve been having a lot of fun finding more ways to bring more health into my daily routine.

I’ve found yoga to be much easier to stick to as a routine if I give myself the accountability to keep my good friend Rachel up to date on how my practice has been going.

A simple thumbs up on a text, and we let each other know we’ve gotten to our yoga mat that day. Sometimes just the small text letting me know she did it is enough motivation to get off the couch and onto the mat.

I’ve been making large jars of sun tea infusions, and because it seems more fun I’ve been refereeing to them as Elixirs!

Here’s the newest one I’ve got in the fridge, It’s so tangy and refreshing I’m much more likely to have a second glass, and it’s great for your health, particularly the liver and skin.

Hibiscus Elixir

Makes one large gallon jar

Ingredients:

1/4 C dried hibiscus flowers

1 mint teabag

1 desert lime teabag

1 knob fresh ginger, peeled and sliced

1 lemon sliced

Steps:

Place all ingredients in jar and fill with water. Leave in the window in the sun for 4 hours, then remove the teabags and place the jar in the fridge.

Saves for about a week. Flavors will get stronger. Dilute with water if needed.
