Cooking: Orange Green Tea Smoothie

Living in a university dorm has its many advantages, but one thing I find that I really do miss is the amazing quantity of fresh fruit around at our house.

At home I’m always eating fruit, but here the options of the dinning hall are: apples, oranges and bananas… Daily.

I’m glad to have these fruits on hand but I find that I do miss the variety, and the nice feeling of always having a fruit bowl near by!

In efforts to add a little variety to this routine, I recreated my favorite Vitamix recipe: the amazing whole orange smoothie with what I had on hand!

Amazing Orange and Green Tea Smoothie
Serves 2

-2 cups ice
-4 whole oranges peeled (leave the pith on)
-teaspoon vanilla extract
-1/4 cup green tea concentrate (I used tazo’s zen)

Its important for this recipe that you leave the pith on the oranges, this is what creates the creamy smooth, Orange Julius texture of the amazing drink. Blend up in the Vitamix and pour into your favorite smoothie mug
