Our Favorite Waffles
Mornings are meant to be enjoyed, and weekdays are always improved by the sight of fresh waffles crisping up in the maker and the overwhelming smell of maple syrup as you flip open the cap, and pour a little into each groove.
Because these are becoming so frequent in our house and they are quite decadent I am working on a new recipe to include whole grain and oats: Stay tuned!
Our Favorite Waffles
Recipe adapted from Allrecipes.com
1 eggs
1 cup flour
1 cup milk
1/4 cup oil
1 tbs sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp vanilla
sprinkle of salt
In a medium mixing bowl beat the egg, and add the milk. whisk to combine. Add the vanilla, salt, sugar, and oil, and stir to incorporate. Add the flour and baking soda, and stir to combine making sure not to over-mix.
Cook waffles in preheated waffle iron according to directions of maker. (mine take a couple minutes to cook).
Serve with maple syrup, fresh strawberries, powdered sugar and whipped cream.
