Weeknight Dinner: Pasta Alla Carbonara
This is one of the very first recipes my mom taught me how to make as a kid. I’ve always loved pasta so much, and this is the most decadent and easy weeknight hour.
When I moved away for college it was one of the first dishes I made in my kitchen, and it’s still one I make often today.
Of course, everyone has their own recipe for it, and this one is far from the classic but still so so delicious.
Pasta Carbonara
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb pasta
- 4 yolks egg
- 1/2 c heavy cream
- 4 strips crispy bacon
- 1 c parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp pepper
Instructions
- Cook pasta until al dente, drain, reserving 1/4 c of the pasta water
- Add in the egg yolks, cream and cheese and cook until the cheese melts and sauce thickens
- Crumble in the bacon and serve
